Minerals Development Oman (MDO) recently completed its Geophysical Airborne Survey Project in Oman, marking a significant milestone in the country’s mineral exploration efforts. The survey, which took 73 weeks to complete, covered a total area of 16,000 square kilometers across seven mineral concessions in six governorates. Eng. Nasser Saif Al Maqbali, CEO of MDO, emphasized the importance of this project in advancing Oman’s mining sector, stating that it lays the foundation for future progress and growth.

The successful completion of the airborne geophysical survey project demonstrates MDO’s commitment to leveraging modern technology and practical approaches to unlock new opportunities in the mining sector. By investing in Omani talent in exploration and geophysics, the company aims to localize essential knowledge and drive sustainable growth in mineral resources. The data collected from the survey will be crucial in supporting mining projects developed by MDO, alongside other exploration activities such as geochemical surveys and exploratory drilling.

Established with a clear strategic vision, MDO is focused on investing in Oman’s mining sector to enhance its contribution to economic and social growth. This includes creating job opportunities, building local competencies, supporting small businesses, and developing in-country value. The company’s comprehensive exploration program aims to build a robust database of mineral resources, ultimately leading to the development of successful mining projects.

The airborne geophysical survey project was conducted across mineral concessions in Al Buraimi, North and South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, and A’Dakhiliyah. The meticulous logging of 2,550 flight hours during the survey highlights the thorough approach taken by MDO in identifying and evaluating mineral resources. The use of cutting-edge airborne surveying technology underscores the company’s commitment to utilizing innovative methods to achieve its strategic objectives in the mining sector.

As Oman’s mining sector continues to evolve, MDO’s dedication to advancing geological knowledge and exploration practices will play a key role in driving sustainable growth. By prioritizing the development of local talent in critical areas such as exploration and geophysics, the company is ensuring that Oman’s mining industry remains at the forefront of innovation and progress. The completion of the Geophysical Airborne Survey Project represents a significant step forward in MDO’s mission to establish itself as a leader in the country’s mineral exploration efforts.

In conclusion, the successful completion of the Geophysical Airborne Survey Project by Minerals Development Oman underscores the company’s commitment to advancing Oman’s mining sector and driving sustainable growth. Through the implementation of innovative technology and a comprehensive exploration program, MDO is on track to unlock new opportunities and develop successful mining projects across the country. By investing in local talent and building a robust database of mineral resources, the company is paving the way for economic and social development in Oman’s mining industry.
