Khasab, located in the Governorate of Musandam, is gearing up to welcome visitors for the upcoming winter season from November 2024 to April 2025. This region is known for its unique archaeological, tourist, and natural attractions that draw visitors from all around the world. Tourists can indulge in a variety of activities such as marine and land sports, adventure tourism, mountain climbing, exploring caves, beaches, and marine locations ideal for rowing and diving.
During the previous winter season (November 2023 – April 2024), Musandam welcomed 68,243 tourists from various GCC, Arab, European, and Asian countries who arrived via cruise ships. Salah Mohammed Al Farsi, the Director of Heritage and Tourism in Musandam, highlighted that 21,972 visitors explored the historical attractions of the region during this period. There is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and other public and private entities to promote the natural tourism potentials of Musandam, along with showcasing its rich history through castles, forts, and other significant components.
Al Farsi also mentioned that there are 10 hotel establishments in Musandam, with seven hotels located in the Wilayat of Khasab offering a total of 365 rooms, and three hotels in the Wilayat of Daba providing 128 rooms. These accommodations cater to the increasing number of tourists visiting the region and offer comfortable stays for those looking to explore the hidden gems of Musandam. With a focus on enhancing the overall tourism experience, efforts are being made to further develop and market the governorate’s natural beauty and heritage sites to attract more visitors in the upcoming winter season.
