The Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, has spoken out against the recent Israeli aggression against Yemen. In a statement, he expressed his surprise at the brutal attack and called for all Muslims to support Yemen, emphasizing that the Muslim nation is one and that aggression against any of its members is aggression against all. He highlighted the importance of Yemen’s role in supporting truth and defending Islamic sanctities, as well as the Palestinians in the occupied land. The Grand Mufti extended his deepest condolences to the people of Yemen and the entire Muslim community, praying for the martyrs to be granted mercy and paradise.

The Israeli warplanes targeted the Houthi-controlled port of Hodeidah in Yemen, resulting in the death of three individuals and injuring over 80. The Houthi-run Saba news agency reported that the number of casualties from the attack has increased, with three martyrs and 87 wounded. This marks the first time Israel has carried out strikes in the Arabian Peninsula’s poorest country, approximately 2,000 kilometers away. The airstrikes caused a massive fire and thick black smoke, causing widespread destruction in the area.

The statement issued by the Grand Mufti of Oman underscores the significance of solidarity and support within the Muslim community in times of crisis and conflict. His call for unity and collective action to defend Islamic values and protect Muslim nations facing aggression resonates with many believers worldwide. The condemnation of the Israeli attack on Yemen and the expression of condolences for the victims reflect a sense of shared responsibility and compassion among Muslims across borders and boundaries.

The situation in Yemen, already devastated by years of conflict and humanitarian crisis, has been further exacerbated by recent acts of violence and aggression. The targeting of civilian areas and infrastructure by external forces has resulted in loss of life and widespread suffering among the Yemeni population. The international community must take urgent action to address the root causes of the conflict and ensure the protection of civilians, in accordance with international law and human rights principles.

The Grand Mufti’s statement serves as a reminder of the need for religious leaders and spiritual authorities to speak out against injustice and violence, regardless of political considerations. His emphasis on the unity of the Muslim nation and the interconnectedness of its members underscores the importance of solidarity and mutual support in times of crisis. By offering prayers for the victims and calling for peace and justice, the Grand Mufti sets an example of compassion and empathy that resonates with believers around the world.

In conclusion, the recent Israeli aggression against Yemen has sparked condemnation and outrage from religious leaders, human rights organizations, and concerned individuals globally. The call for solidarity and support for Yemen, as articulated by the Grand Mufti of Oman, highlights the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis in the country and taking concrete steps to end the cycle of violence and suffering. As the Muslim community and the international community at large come together to condemn the attacks and offer assistance to those affected, there is hope for a brighter future and a more peaceful world for all.
