The Fertility Centre at Al Wattayah Gynaecology and Obstetrics Complex recently celebrated the birth of the first baby girl to a 37-year-old mother who had struggled with infertility for nearly a decade. Dr. Rahma bint Salim Al-Ghabshi, Head of the Fertility Centre, revealed that the mother had undergone various fertility treatments, including stimulants and artificial insemination, due to her medical conditions of diabetes and an underactive thyroid gland. After receiving intensive care and follow-up from doctors at Khoula Maternity Hospital, the mother successfully gave birth via caesarean section to a healthy baby girl weighing 2.56 kilograms.

The Fertility Centre at Al Wattayah Gynaecology and Obstetrics Complex is a beacon of hope for couples facing fertility issues. The centre, which was established earlier this year, boasts a team of highly experienced medical professionals specializing in infertility and assisted conception. Equipped with the latest technology, the centre offers free medical services of the highest quality, with a focus on providing support and guidance to couples seeking to overcome the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth. Additionally, the centre aims to collaborate with international institutions and obtain academic recognition to become a specialized training centre for female doctors in the field of fertility.

IVF, or In Vitro Fertilization, is a technique used in cases of blocked fallopian tubes, male infertility, ovulation disorders, or unexplained infertility. The success of IVF treatment is greatly influenced by the age of the mother, with higher success rates seen in younger women. For optimal success, it is recommended that women seeking IVF treatment are under the age of 42, have a BMI below 35, and do not have a healthy child from their current marriage. It is important to note that the success rate of IVF decreases significantly as the woman’s age increases, highlighting the importance of seeking treatment at a younger age.

The Fertility Centre at Al Wattayah Gynaecology and Obstetrics Complex is a hub of activity, with over 60 cases being seen weekly and between 15 and 20 fertilization operations being performed. The centre’s commitment to providing top-notch care and utilizing cutting-edge technology underscores its dedication to helping couples achieve their dream of parenthood. By offering a range of services and treatments tailored to individual needs, the centre strives to make the journey to parenthood as smooth and successful as possible for every patient.

The birth of the first baby girl at the Fertility Centre serves as a testament to the impact of modern medical advancements in the field of fertility treatment. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and patient care, the centre is well-positioned to become a leading institution in the realm of fertility treatment. As the demand for fertility services continues to rise, the Fertility Centre at Al Wattayah Gynaecology and Obstetrics Complex remains dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of infertility and realize their dreams of starting a family.
