Dr. Prakash Baba Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte, esteemed Indian social activists, recently visited Oman where they engaged in impactful discussions with the Indian community. Hailing from Maharashtra, India, the couple’s trip to Salalah and Muscat was organized by expatriates from the Vidarbha region, recognizing their outstanding contributions to social welfare and community service. Dr. Prakash Baba Amte, a recipient of the esteemed Padma Shri award, and his wife, Dr. Mandakini Amte, were jointly bestowed with the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2008 for their collaborative efforts through the Lok Biradari Prakalp initiative benefiting the Madia Gonds in Maharashtra, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh.
