The Wilayats of North Al Sharqiyah Governorate in Muscat experienced a surge in visitors during Eid Al-Adha celebrations, with a variety of events and activities attracting tourists to the region. The popular tourist and archaeological sites in Ibra, Wadi Bani Khalid, and Muqal saw a large number of visitors enjoying the public facilities and services. In particular, the zoo in Ibra and the water ponds in Wadi Bani Khalid and Muqal were major attractions for tourists.
The Wilayat of Bidiya also experienced heavy tourist traffic, thanks to its desert and sand activities that are famous in the region. The area is known for hosting 4-wheel drive and bicycle sport racing competitions, as well as open markets in the center of the wilayat. Visitors flocked to Bidiya to partake in these popular activities during Eid Al-Adha celebrations.
In addition to Ibra and Bidiya, other Wilayats such as Al-Mudhaibi, Al-Qabil, Dima, Al-Taiyin, and Sinaw organized events to celebrate Eid Al-Adha. Traditional horse and camel racing, as well as archery competitions, were held in these regions to entertain tourists and locals alike. The North Al Sharqiyah Municipality also organized the “Eid Joy” event in the seven wilayats of the governorate, along with Eid festivals in various public locations.
These events and activities not only provided entertainment for visitors but also showcased the cultural richness and traditions of the region. Children also had the opportunity to participate in competitions and enjoy the festive atmosphere during Eid celebrations in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. With a diverse range of activities and events, the region attracted a large number of tourists during Eid Al-Adha, making it a popular destination for holidaymakers.
