KUWAIT: Responding to an invitation from the administration of Dar Al-Shifa Hospital, members of the International Friends Club participated in a program and activities related to the national campaign for health awareness on breast cancer. This campaign is aligned with the global initiative of the World Health Organization in the month of October each year.
The event was graced by the presence of the ambassadors of Kenya and Sierra Leone, as well as several ambassadorial wives and diplomats. Club members accepted the invitation and actively engaged in the specially prepared program. The program included a cultural segment focused on health awareness. It featured a comprehensive lecture on safeguarding women against the perils of breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of self-examination, mammogram X-ray screenings, physical fitness, social activities and a balanced diet.
The event also featured social competitions and promotional activities such as flower arranging. Towards the conclusion of the program, a group of female members underwent chest X-ray screenings. Following the day’s activities, a luncheon was organized, centered around healthy foods and dishes. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about specific foods that have beneficial properties in combating this disease. Club members expressed their heartfelt gratitude by presenting a commemorative plaque to Narges Al-Yousifi, the hospital’s owner. They wished her continued success, prosperity and well-being.
