The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States have highlighted the importance of promoting and protecting women’s rights and empowering them economically. In a statement delivered by the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva, the GCC States emphasized their commitment to empowering women and increasing their participation in all sectors. They have invested heavily in developing female leaders, providing high-quality education and ongoing training to enhance their presence in various fields.

The GCC States have seen significant success in empowering women, with many holding leadership positions that serve as a source of pride for the region. They believe that supporting women in leadership roles will motivate others to participate more effectively in economic life. To this end, the GCC States have dedicated resources to support and finance businesswomen, leading to the advanced position that Gulf women enjoy in the field of entrepreneurship.

Despite their progress, the GCC States acknowledge challenges faced by women in other regions, such as those in Gaza, Rafah, and developing countries. They call on the international community to increase efforts to close the wage gap and support women’s economic rights more comprehensively. By addressing these issues, the GCC States aim to continue promoting women’s empowerment and advancing gender equality within their own countries and globally.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States are committed to promoting and protecting women’s rights and empowering them economically. This dedication was emphasized during the annual full-day discussion on women’s human rights at the 56th Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. The GCC States have taken numerous measures to empower women and encourage their participation across all sectors, recognizing the importance of fostering female leadership.

Through investing in the development of female cadres and providing ongoing education and training, the GCC States have enabled Gulf women to succeed and attain leadership positions. This success not only benefits individual women but also serves as a point of pride for all GCC countries. By focusing on supporting women in leadership roles, the GCC States believe they can inspire other women and girls to participate more actively and influentially in economic life.

The GCC States have placed a particular emphasis on supporting women in entrepreneurship, harnessing resources to finance initiatives that benefit businesswomen. This investment has significantly contributed to the advanced position that Gulf women currently hold in the field of entrepreneurship. However, the GCC States are mindful of the challenges faced by women in other regions, stressing the importance of international efforts to address these issues and support women’s economic rights more comprehensively.

Despite the progress made in empowering women in the GCC States, the situation of women in Gaza, Rafah, and developing countries remains a concern for the international community. The GCC States express regret for the economic challenges faced by women in these regions and call for increased efforts to close the wage gap and support women’s economic rights. By working together with the international community, the GCC States aim to continue promoting women’s empowerment and advancing gender equality on a global scale.
