The Ministry of Labour in Bahrain has taken significant steps to enhance services for all citizens and residents in the country. This initiative is part of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and follows the directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to develop 500 services across 24 government entities. His Excellency Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, the Minister of Labour, has stated that the ministry has improved various services to simplify procedures, reduce documentation by 50%, and decrease service completion time by 25%. Many services have been transitioned to digital platforms for ease of access.

One of the key developments is the digitization of the “Foras” (Opportunities) Programme, which has reduced the completion time from four days to just one day. Additionally, three services in the Employment Directorate have been upgraded, including job vacancy listings, issuing certificates for persons with disabilities, and Bahrainisation certificates. In the Directorate of Professional Institutes Affairs, eight services have been digitized, such as renewing private training institution licenses, licensing training programs, and licensing administrative and technical staff and trainers, both Bahraini and foreign.

In the Directorate of Inspection and Occupational Safety, two services have been developed to address important issues in the workplace. These services include resolving labour complaints and notifying the ministry of workforce reductions. These developments are aimed at improving safety and efficiency in the workplace, as well as providing better support and resources for both workers and businesses in Bahrain. The Ministry of Labour’s efforts reflect a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery for the benefit of all stakeholders.

By streamlining processes and reducing paperwork, the Ministry of Labour is working to make services more accessible and user-friendly for both citizens and residents in Bahrain. The digitization of various services has not only simplified procedures but has also significantly reduced completion times. This move towards digital platforms aligns with global trends towards automation and online services, making it easier for individuals and businesses to access the resources they need. These developments are a positive step towards creating a more efficient and dynamic labour market in Bahrain.

Overall, the Ministry of Labour’s efforts to enhance services reflect a commitment to supporting the workforce and ensuring a safe and productive working environment for all. By modernizing processes and embracing digital technologies, the ministry is paving the way for a more streamlined and effective service delivery system. With a focus on reducing paperwork, simplifying procedures, and improving efficiency, the Ministry of Labour is setting new benchmarks for service excellence in Bahrain. These initiatives are a testament to the government’s dedication to continuously improving the quality of life and opportunities for all citizens and residents in the country.
