Bahrain is taking significant steps towards achieving carbon neutrality and enhancing environmental sustainability with the launch of the National Action Plan to Achieve Carbon Neutrality announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In line with this initiative, National Tree Week was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund “Tamkeen,” highlighted the importance of supporting national efforts to enhance environmental security and sustainability. She emphasized Tamkeen’s commitment to supporting national development policies that have a positive impact on private sector performance.

During National Tree Week, Her Excellency Mofeez and Tamkeen’s executive management team participated in planting several trees as part of the initiative. The event aims to align with Bahrain’s vision of adopting practices that preserve environmental resources and contribute to the Kingdom’s afforestation plan. The plan aims to double the number of trees in Bahrain to 3.6 million by 2035. By encouraging enterprises to adopt sustainable and efficient operational practices, Tamkeen is playing a crucial role in supporting national efforts towards achieving Net-Zero by 2060.

The participation of Tamkeen’s executive management team in planting trees during National Tree Week demonstrates the organization’s commitment to environmental sustainability. By supporting enterprises in adopting sustainable practices, Tamkeen is contributing to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality. The afforestation plan, which aims to double the number of trees in Bahrain by 2035, aligns with Bahrain’s vision of preserving environmental resources. Through initiatives like National Tree Week, Bahrain is taking proactive steps towards enhancing environmental security and sustainability.

Her Excellency Ms. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez’s emphasis on supporting national development policies that positively impact private sector performance highlights Tamkeen’s role in driving sustainable practices in Bahrain. By encouraging enterprises to utilize Tamkeen’s support in adopting sustainable and efficient operational practices, the organization is playing a key role in advancing environmental sustainability in the Kingdom.
