Real Madrid is making plans to establish a football academy in Bahrain, with the Al Safar Group signing an agreement with the Spanish club to bring their coaches to the Kingdom. The focus will initially be on partnering with private schools to offer Real Madrid academy sporting activities. The academy seeks to benefit Bahraini children and youth socially, culturally, and financially, with a primary emphasis on their sporting development. The global presence of Real Madrid, with approximately 4,000 centres worldwide, will provide a valuable framework for the Bahrain academy’s training programmes, preparing young players for elite opportunities.

The Al Safar Group intends to construct a dedicated stadium for the Real Madrid academy, potentially in Muharraq, Riffa, or Manama. In the meantime, existing facilities at Bahraini sports clubs and school sports facilities will be utilised for training and activities. The launch of the academy is imminent, with the selection of Spanish management and coaching staff set to be finalised soon. A trip to Madrid is planned for early November to further refine the launch plan, with the programme expected to commence in December or January. The group aims to invite prominent figures from the world of football to Bahrain, potentially including visits from Real Madrid representatives.

In addition to the Real Madrid academy, there is a possibility of bringing FC Barcelona’s La Masia academy to Bahrain in the future, with the potential for visits from Barcelona players such as Lionel Messi. This initiative by the Al Safar Group is expected to have multifaceted benefits for Bahrain, including social, sporting, cultural, and financial returns. By focusing on the development of Bahraini children and youth in the field of football, the academy aims to equip them for future success and elite opportunities. Bahraini personnel will also be recruited for leadership roles within the academy, ensuring local involvement and support for the programme.

The Real Madrid academy in Bahrain will establish partnerships with private schools to offer sporting activities, utilizing the global presence and expertise of the Spanish club to provide high-quality training programmes for young players. The construction of a dedicated stadium for the academy will further enhance the training facilities and opportunities available to Bahraini youth. As the launch of the academy approaches, the Al Safar Group is working to finalise the selection of Spanish management and coaching staff, with plans to kick off the programme in December or January.

The Al Safar Group’s investment in bringing the Real Madrid academy to Bahrain demonstrates their commitment to the social and sporting development of the country’s youth. By creating opportunities for young players to train and experience elite football education, the academy aims to nurture talent and prepare them for potential success at higher levels of the sport. The potential for future collaborations with FC Barcelona’s La Masia academy and visits from prominent football figures further highlights the ambition and vision of the Al Safar Group in promoting football excellence in Bahrain.

Overall, the establishment of the Real Madrid academy in Bahrain represents a significant step towards enhancing the country’s football development and providing opportunities for young players to pursue their sporting dreams. With a focus on social, cultural, and financial benefits, as well as the training and development of Bahraini talent, the academy is poised to make a positive impact on the local football scene. As the launch of the academy approaches, the Al Safar Group’s efforts to bring top-tier football education to Bahrain are set to bear fruit, with potential collaborations and visits from international football icons adding to the excitement surrounding this initiative.
