A group of 25 students from New Millennium School had the opportunity to visit the INS TIR, the oldest ship in the Indian Navy docked at Bahrain Port. The visit was organized by the First Training Squadron of the Indian Navy on October 13, 2024, with the aim of providing students with firsthand insight into the roles and responsibilities of naval service. During the visit, students received a briefing on the history and significance of the INS TIR, which plays a crucial role in training future naval cadets.

The students had the chance to explore various areas of the ship, including the bridge, engine rooms, and living quarters, giving them a comprehensive understanding of life at sea. They also participated in interactive sessions led by officers who explained the vessel’s operational capabilities and the rigorous training processes that naval cadets undergo aboard the ship. The students were able to gain valuable knowledge about the Indian Navy and the dedication required to serve the nation at sea, leaving them inspired by the experience.

Reflecting on their visit, the students expressed their gratitude for the unique perspective they gained on the Indian Navy and the dedication it takes to serve at sea. The school’s Chairman, Dr. Ravi Pillai, Managing Director Mrs. Geetha Pillai, and Principal Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma also thanked the Indian Navy for organizing such an enlightening experience for the students. The visit not only provided students with a deeper understanding of naval operations but also left them feeling inspired and motivated to consider future careers in the Indian Navy.

The INS TIR holds great significance as the oldest ship in the Indian Navy and plays a vital role in training future naval cadets. By opening its doors to students, the Indian Navy provided them with a unique opportunity to learn about naval service firsthand and gain insights into the daily life and responsibilities of naval personnel. The interactive sessions and hands-on experiences offered during the visit allowed students to immerse themselves in the world of the Indian Navy and understand the importance of teamwork, discipline, and dedication in serving the nation at sea.
