The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in Bahrain has taken steps to provide alternative housing solutions to citizens with pending applications from 2004 and earlier, following a directive from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, announced that housing units in the East Sitra project are being allocated to those eligible under the first alternative option, which includes a housing unit and construction financing of BD40,000 through the Tas’heel programme.

Additionally, the Ministry will soon deliver residential apartments to those eligible for the second option, which offers a BD3,000 financial grant and a two-year exemption from common area maintenance fees. Funds for the third option, which includes a maximum financing facility of BD70,000 along with a BD10,000 grant, have also begun to be disbursed. The aim is to address both current and backlog housing requests by allocating units across various governorates, with East Sitra being the first project followed by units in other areas.

The Ministry will continue to provide housing allowances for two years to citizens benefiting from the East Sitra units, as well as cover the fees for issuing building permits to facilitate and expedite construction by beneficiaries. This initiative is part of the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing solutions to its citizens and ensuring that those with pending applications for housing are not left waiting indefinitely. By allocating housing units and providing financial assistance, the Ministry is working to address the housing needs of eligible citizens in a timely and efficient manner.

The alternative housing options provided by the Ministry offer a range of benefits, including financial grants, exemptions from maintenance fees, and construction financing. This is aimed at making housing more accessible and affordable for those in need, while also ensuring that the backlog of housing requests is addressed. By allocating units across different governorates, the Ministry is taking a comprehensive approach to tackling the housing shortage in Bahrain and providing citizens with a range of options to choose from based on their needs and preferences.

The Ministry’s commitment to providing housing solutions to citizens with pending applications from 2004 and earlier highlights the government’s dedication to meeting the housing needs of its citizens. By allocating housing units in projects like East Sitra and providing financial assistance, the Ministry is working to ensure that eligible citizens have access to affordable housing options. The initiative also includes additional measures such as covering building permit fees to facilitate construction by beneficiaries, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to addressing the housing shortage in Bahrain.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning’s initiative to provide alternative housing solutions to citizens with pending applications is a significant step towards addressing the housing needs of eligible citizens in Bahrain. By allocating housing units, providing financial assistance, and covering building permit fees, the Ministry is working to make housing more accessible and affordable for those in need. This commitment to addressing the backlog of housing requests reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring that all citizens have access to adequate housing, in line with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s directive.
