The Minister of Education in Bahrain, HE Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, has announced the scholarship and grant results for outstanding high school graduates of the 2023-2024 academic year. These results can be accessed on the Ministry’s website. The Minister commended the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa towards the education system in Bahrain, with various government initiatives prioritizing education. He met with the top thirty students from government and private schools, congratulating them on their achievements and thanking parents for their support.
During the meeting, Minister Juma discussed scholarship allocations with students and parents, emphasizing that the cumulative average was the basis for eligibility. He also talked about the students’ academic and professional goals, wishing them success in their future endeavors. Out of 1,500 students who applied for scholarships, 1,200 secured their first or second choices, demonstrating a high level of precision and fairness in the selection process.
Minister Juma highlighted the objectivity and fairness in the scholarship allocations, which are solely based on cumulative averages. Approximately 80% of applicants with GPAs between 95 and 99.9 received their first or second choice of scholarship. The Ministry is also providing around 300 scholarships specifically for nursing, ensuring support for all qualified applicants. The Minister expressed satisfaction with the results and discussed plans for future improvements in the scholarship and academic systems to enhance educational outcomes.
