Manama Prepares for Arab Unity Summit with Flags Flying High

The Kingdom of Bahrain has completed preparations for the 33rd regular session of the Arab Summit, which will be chaired by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The country has been going through procedures and arrangements based on the directions issued by His Majesty and followed up by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The committee to prepare the Kingdom was led by His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, to ensure the success of the Arab Summit. The roads, streets, and landmarks in Bahrain have been decorated with flags of sister Arab countries and pictures of their leaders to welcome the delegates and showcase Arab unity and solidarity.

Bahrain has broad support in the Arab world to host the Summit, given its approach based on peace, stability, and promotion of cooperation. The country’s foreign policy is characterized by balance and rationality, making it the most suitable host for the Arab Summit. His Majesty the King has championed the spirit of unity and solidarity in his speeches at Arab Summits, highlighting the need for Arab nations to support each other as a single entity to face the challenges in the region. His Majesty has set priorities for the Arab world, emphasizing the importance of establishing peace, stability, and bilateral cooperation to enable joint Arab action with free will and self-determination.

In his speeches at Arab Summit meetings, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has set the priorities for the Arab world, including supporting efforts to unify Arab nations and enhance their strength to meet all challenges. He has stressed the importance of establishing peace and stability in the region, strengthening bilateral and cooperative relations between Arab states, and intensifying efforts to reach a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian question. His speeches have underscored the need for joint efforts to achieve peace based on a two-state solution in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative.

On the day of the Arab Summit, all eyes will be on Manama as His Majesty the King delivers the opening speech. Delegations from various Arab countries have been participating in preparatory meetings to discuss economic and social integration. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to supporting Arab efforts to enhance comprehensive economic and social integration to achieve economic growth. Officials, including Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, and senior officials attended the meeting with a focus on bolstering Arab unity and development.

During the preparatory meetings, urgent aid to the Gaza Strip was discussed to prevent further escalation of military operations, protect innocent civilians, and maintain regional security and stability. The Finance and National Economy Minister emphasized the importance of collaboration between Arab states, international financial institutions, and specialized organizations to address the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Palestine. The collective effort must support a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace process in the Middle East to ensure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Overall, the Arab Summit aims to foster development and pave the way for a prosperous and sustainable future for Arab nations.
