His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa recently called for intensified diplomatic efforts from both regional and international stakeholders to address the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip. Emphasizing the need for peace and the establishment of a Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, the King highlighted the importance of de-escalating tensions across the Middle East and avoiding military confrontation. He urged for enhanced Arab and international cooperation to achieve just, comprehensive, sustainable, and peaceful solutions to conflicts in the region.

During a weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, HM King Hamad also welcomed the United Nations General Assembly resolution, which supports Palestine’s right to full membership in the UN and recommends granting Palestine additional rights and privileges related to its status in the organization. The Cabinet commended the efforts of the Arab Group, led by the United Arab Emirates, for presenting and adopting this resolution during the Tenth Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly. Additionally, His Majesty welcomed Arab leaders to the upcoming 33rd Arab Summit in Bahrain on May 16, expressing hope for the summit’s success in strengthening Arab unity, political and economic capabilities, and promoting peace, security, and stability in the region.

Throughout the meeting, His Majesty King Hamad emphasized the importance of hosting the summit in Bahrain at a critical stage in the region’s development, where continuous consultation and coordination are necessary to achieve a unified stance and overcome challenges facing the Arab world. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other concerned parties for their preparations and arrangements to host the summit, providing all necessary facilities to the country’s guests. The King also expressed his appreciation for the determination of the people of Bahrain to achieve high levels of success, particularly in promoting tolerance, unity, and inclusivity within the kingdom.

Acknowledging the accomplishments of Bahraini youth in various fields, HM King Hamad highlighted the nation’s commitment to advancing key development projects that support economic growth and provide opportunities for its people. He praised the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in leading government work and enriching the comprehensive development process. The King stressed the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities to support the goals of the comprehensive development process, emphasizing the central role of Bahraini citizens in its success.

During the meeting, HRH Prince Salman expressed gratitude on behalf of the government for HM the King’s appreciation of Team Bahrain’s efforts. He noted that the appreciation was a source of pride that obligates everyone to continue implementing His Majesty’s visions. The Crown Prince and Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment of ministries and government agencies to ensure the success of the 33rd Arab Summit, implementing the King’s directives to strengthen Bahrain’s position and enhance joint Arab action. Additionally, His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of adopting initiatives that preserve the environment, enhance food security, and support national products as part of ongoing development and modernization efforts in various fields.
