With Eid al-Adha celebrations coinciding with scorching temperatures in Bahrain, swimming pools are experiencing a dip in bookings this year compared to previous years. This decline is attributed to several factors including high prices, the timing of the holiday in the middle of the month, and increased competition within the industry. Traditionally, swimming pools have been a popular destination for families and youth during Eid holidays, with bookings typically spiking during this period. However, pool owners have reported a noticeable decrease in reservations this year.

One local swimming pool owner mentioned that the demand is moderate this year, unlike in previous years. Factors such as travel plans, the Hajj season, and the timing of Eid in the middle of the month have made pool outings less of a priority for families and youth. Additionally, prices play a role in the decrease in bookings, with small pools starting at 50 Bahraini dinars, medium-sized pools at 70 dinars, and large pools with premium amenities reaching up to 120 dinars.

Another owner shared similar sentiments, stating that the demand is weak this year. Prices at their pool start from 80 dinars on weekdays and go up to 100-120 dinars on weekends and public holidays. He also mentioned that competition within the industry has increased significantly over the past few years. Five years ago, there were no more than 35 pools in Bahrain, but now, there are around 150 pools, making the competition fierce and the demand low.

The increase in the number of swimming pools in Bahrain has led to a decrease in bookings as pool owners struggle to attract customers with competitive prices and offers. The proliferation of swimming pools has made it challenging for pool owners to stand out and entice potential customers to choose their pool over others. As a result, some pool owners have had to lower their prices or offer special promotions to attract customers during the holiday season.

Despite the challenges faced by swimming pool owners in Bahrain, there are still opportunities to attract customers and increase bookings during Eid al-Adha celebrations. By offering unique amenities, such as water slides, children’s play areas, or themed events, pool owners can differentiate themselves from their competitors and attract more customers. Additionally, promoting special offers or discounts during the holiday season can help increase bookings and boost revenue for swimming pool businesses in Bahrain.

Overall, the decline in bookings at swimming pools in Bahrain during Eid al-Adha celebrations can be attributed to a combination of factors including high prices, increased competition within the industry, and the timing of the holiday mid-month. However, by offering unique amenities, special promotions, and competitive prices, swimming pool owners can attract more customers and increase bookings during the holiday season. With the right strategies in place, swimming pool businesses in Bahrain can overcome these challenges and thrive in a competitive market.
