Conjoined Twins from Syria Arrive in Riyadh for Medical Assessment

Syrian conjoined twins Celine and Eleen Abdulmoneim Alshibli recently arrived in Riyadh, accompanied by their family, for medical evaluations that may lead to a separation surgery. The twins were brought to the Kingdom under the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, traveling from Lebanon on a medical evacuation aircraft provided by the Saudi Ministry of Defense. They were admitted to the King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in Riyadh, where a medical team will assess the possibility of separating them.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and head of the surgical team, expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their support in this humanitarian effort. Established in 1990, the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program managed by Al-Rabeeah has successfully separated dozens of conjoined twins from various countries.
