Calls for Help: Security Forces Respond to 16,751 Calls in July, 66% for Emergencies

The Ministry of Interior’s National Emergency Operations Centre in Bahrain received a total of 16,751 calls in July, with the majority of them related to emergencies. Only 6% of the calls were related to security concerns, highlighting the urgent needs of the public. Patrol units were dispatched to attend to 13% of these incidents, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to maintaining public safety and order. Traffic-related issues made up 28% of the calls, showcasing the diverse range of emergencies faced by the country’s security forces.

In addition to the calls received by the Ministry of Interior, the Coast Guard responded to 148 calls in July, with 89 of them related to search and rescue operations. This underscores the critical role of the Coast Guard in ensuring maritime safety. The remaining calls included 21 concerning maritime accidents and 38 requests for assistance in various situations, further highlighting their readiness to address maritime incidents.

The National Ambulance Service also played a crucial role during the month, receiving a total of 4,646 calls. Of these, 3,078 were related to medical emergencies, illustrating the demand for urgent medical attention. Additionally, 816 calls were for transportation from private hospitals and health centers to larger hospitals, while 328 calls were connected to traffic accidents. This further emphasizes the diverse range of emergencies faced by the service.

The Civil Defense Directorate received 1260 reports in July, including 605 for assistance, 200 for fire, 81 for traffic accidents, and 7 for falls, including trees and signboards. These statistics underscore the vital role played by Bahrain’s security forces in ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. Their prompt and effective responses to a variety of emergencies demonstrate a commitment to public service and community safety, reinforcing the importance of preparedness and rapid intervention in times of need.

Overall, the comprehensive statistics released by the Ministry of Interior for July 2024 emphasize the diligent efforts of Bahrain’s security forces in addressing a wide range of emergencies. The high volume of calls received by the National Emergency Operations Centre highlights the urgent needs of the public, with a focus on maintaining public safety and order. The prompt responses and readiness of the Coast Guard, National Ambulance Service, and Civil Defense Directorate further showcase the country’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.
