The Bahrain Chamber recently conducted a training course in collaboration with the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) to enhance economic journalism skills. The programme aimed to familiarize journalists with economic and financial concepts, train them in analyzing economic data, and creating comprehensive reports. This initiative aligns with Manama’s designation as the Arab Media Capital for 2024 and Bahrain Press Day.

During the course, CEO of the Bahrain Chamber, Atef Al-Khaja, presented certificates of appreciation to the trainers, Senior News Anchor and Producer at Al Sharq Channel, Mohamed Al-Salti, and Director at Bahrain Television, Mohamed Ibrahim. Al Khaja also distributed participation certificates to the course attendees. He emphasized the critical role of economic journalism in economic development and underscored the significance of incorporating modern technologies, specifically artificial intelligence, into economic journalism.

The Executive Director of the Bahraini Journalists Association, Fawaz Suleiman, expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber for his significant support in organizing the course. He highlighted that this initiative would improve journalists’ performance in the economic sector. With the increasing importance of economic reporting in today’s evolving media landscape, enhancing journalists’ skills in this area is crucial for accurate and insightful coverage.

The collaboration between the Bahrain Chamber and the Bahrain Journalists Association highlights the commitment to developing the skills of journalists in the field of economic journalism. By providing training on analyzing economic data and creating comprehensive reports, journalists are better equipped to cover economic news accurately and effectively. This training course is particularly timely as Manama is set to be the Arab Media Capital for 2024, emphasizing the importance of high-quality journalism in economic reporting.

The distribution of certificates of appreciation and participation underscores the recognition of the trainers’ efforts and the attendees’ commitment to enhancing their skills in economic journalism. The incorporation of modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, into economic journalism is essential for staying competitive in today’s digital age. By emphasizing the role of economic journalism in economic development, the Bahrain Chamber and the Bahrain Journalists Association are working towards fostering a more informed and educated workforce in the economic sector.

Overall, the training course on developing economic journalism skills conducted by the Bahrain Chamber and the Bahrain Journalists Association is a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of journalists in covering economic news. With a focus on fundamental economic and financial concepts, analyzing data, and creating comprehensive reports, journalists are better prepared to provide accurate and insightful coverage in the economic sector. This initiative not only highlights the importance of economic journalism in driving economic development but also underscores the essential role that modern technologies play in shaping the future of journalism.
