Bahrain’s Ambassador to Iraq, Khalid Al Mansour, has dismissed reports that the Kingdom’s consulate building in Najaf, Iraq, was damaged in a fire that broke out near the complex. The fire occurred in a trailer parked near the Zamzam Complex in Najaf, but did not cause any harm to the consulate building. It was quickly brought under control, and no human or material damage was reported at the complex.

The trailer where the fire broke out was located approximately 50 meters away from the complex housing the consulate. The incident involved a limited fire in a trailer used for security guards at the Zamzam Complex, which includes a hotel and the Bahraini consulate. The Bahraini embassy in Baghdad has been in contact with Iraqi authorities to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of the consulate staff and the building.

Ambassador Al Mansour clarified that the fire did not impact the consulate building in any way. He further assured that no damage was done, and the situation was swiftly dealt with. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining security measures and being prepared for potential emergencies, even when they occur near diplomatic premises.

The swift response to the incident highlights the effective coordination between the Bahraini embassy in Baghdad and Iraqi authorities. It also underscores the commitment to the safety and security of the consulate staff and the facilities. Such incidents serve as a reminder of the need for continuous vigilance and preparedness to address any unforeseen events that may occur in the vicinity of diplomatic missions.

In conclusion, the reports of damage to the Bahraini consulate in Najaf due to a fire near the complex have been refuted by Ambassador Al Mansour. The incident was promptly dealt with, and no harm was done to the consulate building or its staff. The cooperation between the embassy and Iraqi authorities in handling the situation demonstrates the importance of maintaining security measures and being prepared for emergencies. This incident serves as a reminder of the need for ongoing vigilance to ensure the safety of diplomatic premises and personnel.
