Bahrain’s national volleyball team has secured its third Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship title with a 3-1 victory over Qatar in the final match. The team showcased a strong start, dominating the first set with a 25-17 scoreline. Bahrain’s front line, led by Mahmood Hassan and Nasser Annan, along with expert setting from Hussein Mansoor, set the tone for the match with powerful attacks and solid defense.
In the second set, Bahrain continued to apply pressure on Qatar with a combination of forceful spikes and tactical finesse, claiming a 25-18 win. Ali Ebrahim and Mohammed Yaqub played pivotal roles in widening Bahrain’s lead, forcing Qatar to stay on the defensive. Bahrain’s teamwork and relentless pace brought them close to victory, setting the stage for a potential historic win.
Qatar showed resilience in the third set, taking advantage of a few cracks in Bahrain’s gameplay to secure a 25-21 win. This set victory provided Qatar with a lifeline, pushing the match into a fourth set. However, Bahrain regrouped and refocused in the fourth set, delivering an intense performance that sealed the championship with a 25-16 win. Mohammed Yaqub and Sayed Hashem Isa stood out with standout performances, helping Bahrain secure the final set and the title.
Individual players from Bahrain were also recognized for their outstanding performances in the championship. Hani Alawi received the award for Best Player in Position 3, while Nasser Anaan was honored as the Best Player in Position 4. Abbas Abdullah was recognized as the Best Libero, and Mohammad Yaqoob was named the Best Overall Player in the tournament, adding to Bahrain’s impressive victory.
The success of Bahrain’s national volleyball team can be credited to the strategic guidance of head coach Yaseen Almeel and assistant coach Mohammed Salman.
