Bahrain Official Calls for Revitalization of the Arab System at Summit Meeting

In a significant address at the preparatory meeting of the 33rd Arab Summit in Manama, Bahrain, His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Foreign Affairs Ministry Undersecretary for International Affairs, emphasized the need for unity and solidarity in addressing the pressing challenges facing the Arab world. Amidst rising tensions and crises, H.E. Shaikh Abdulla stressed the importance of collective action and cooperation to navigate the complex landscape of the region. Particularly, he highlighted the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the resulting humanitarian crisis, calling for immediate measures to alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians and reaffirming Bahrain’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. Additionally, H.E. Shaikh Abdulla expressed concerns over internal conflicts and the proliferation of armed militias, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding national institutions and combating foreign interference in Arab affairs.

Moreover, Shaikh Abdulla reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to promoting just Arab causes and upholding Arab unity and stability. As the Arab world faces a multitude of challenges, H.E. Shaikh Abdulla emphasized the importance of revitalizing the Arab system and promoting greater integration to foster peace and development. He encouraged Arab leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the Arab Summit to chart a new course forward, based on shared values and aspirations. Shaikh Abdulla expressed optimism that the summit would mark a new chapter in the Arab world’s journey towards progress and prosperity, while reiterating Bahrain’s support for efforts aimed at advancing the collective interests of the Arab nation, invoking peace, coexistence, and Arabism.
