Bahrain Emerges Victorious in the Bangladesh-Bahrain Friendship Cricket Cup 2024: Commemorating 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations.

The ‘Bangladesh-Bahrain Friendship Cricket Cup 2024’ was a highly anticipated event held at the Alba Club field in Manama, Bahrain on Friday, 27 December 2024. The match was organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Bahrain and the Bahrain Cricket Federation in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s ascension to the throne. Additionally, the match commemorated the National Day of Bahrain and the Victory Day of Bangladesh, which both fall on the 16th of December.

The event drew a large crowd of foreign dignitaries, cricket enthusiasts, and spectators from around the Kingdom who came to show their support for this special friendly cricket match. H.E. Ms. Muneera Nofal Al Doseri, Chief of Asian & Pacific Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, expressed gratitude for the event and highlighted the long-standing friendship between Bangladesh and Bahrain. The match was also attended by H.E. Mr. Mohamed Husain Janahi, a member of the Council of Representatives, who praised the opportunity for people of different nationalities to come together and enjoy a shared love of sport.

The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy, Mr. A.K.M. Mohiuddin Kayes, commended both teams for their sportsmanship and camaraderie during the match. The Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bahrain Cricket Federation, Mr. Mohammad Mansoor, and the President of the Bahrain Cricket Federation, Mr. Sami Ali, also expressed their appreciation for the successful collaboration between the two teams and the celebration of the strong ties between Bangladesh and Bahrain. The match itself was a thrilling contest, with the Bahrain team ultimately emerging as the champions.

The event served as an excellent platform for cultural exchange and friendship between Bangladesh and Bahrain, further strengthening the bonds between the two nations. The Embassy of Bangladesh in Bahrain and the Bahrain Cricket Federation extended their congratulations to both teams and thanked all those who contributed to the success of the Friendship Cricket Cup, including the players, coaches, umpires, officials, spectators, and sponsors. They look forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue fostering friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Bahrain.
