A Bahraini parliamentary delegation recently attended the International Young Parliamentarians Conference in Yerevan, Armenia. Led by MP Abdulla Khalifa Al Rumaihi and MP Ali Hussain Al Shehabi, the delegation engaged in multiple bilateral and joint meetings with other delegations to strengthen parliamentary relations and share expertise in education, training, and employment.

One of the key meetings held by the Bahraini delegation was with Philippe Pauwels, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth. During this meeting, discussions revolved around Bahrain’s accomplishments in youth development and the important role of the legislative authority in supporting the youth population. This meeting helped highlight Bahrain’s commitment to nurturing and empowering the next generation of leaders.

A significant aspect of the delegation’s participation in the conference was the meeting with the British delegation, led by Dan Carden, Chair of the Young Parliamentarians Forum and a British MP. This meeting aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration on parliamentary and youth-related issues. By engaging with international counterparts, Bahrain seeks to enhance its legislative practices and learn from the experiences of other countries.

Another important meeting for the Bahraini delegation was with the Russian parliamentary delegation, led by Yulia Lazutkina, Senator of the Russian Federation. Discussions during this meeting focused on strengthening parliamentary ties between Bahrain and Russia. Such interactions are crucial in fostering diplomatic relations and facilitating knowledge exchange between nations.

MP Ali Hussain Al Shehabi also had a meeting with the Serbian delegation, which included Deputy Speaker Edin Đerlek and MP Ivana Stamatović. The discussion revolved around potential areas of cooperation in education and employment. By engaging with Serbia and exploring opportunities for collaboration, Bahrain aims to enhance its education and employment policies for the benefit of its citizens.

In conclusion, Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation’s participation in the International Young Parliamentarians Conference in Yerevan, Armenia, was marked by fruitful discussions and meetings with various delegations. The exchange of ideas and experiences in education, training, and employment will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing Bahrain’s parliamentary relations and youth development initiatives. Such international engagements are vital in building strong diplomatic ties and promoting mutual learning among nations.
