Bahrain’s tourism sector continues to flourish with the recent inauguration of the Hawar Resort, a premier project aimed at promoting sustainable tourism practices that highlight the Kingdom’s natural beauty, environmental richness, and cultural heritage. The resort’s official opening was attended by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This milestone has significantly contributed to Bahrain’s tourism sector by offering world-class services and amenities, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists.
The Hawar Resort is the first strategic project implemented under the master plan for Hawar Islands, overseen by the Higher Authority for Hawar Islands Development and developed by Edamah, the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat). The inauguration ceremony was attended by key officials including HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, and representatives from the Mantis Hotel Group, which manages the resort. HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad praised the rapid growth of Bahrain’s tourism sector driven by high-quality plans, initiatives, and projects, emphasizing the importance of building on these achievements to enhance the sector’s contributions to the Kingdom’s economic and developmental goals.
During his visit, His Highness toured the resort, exploring its advanced facilities and learning about the project’s phases and offerings. He applauded the efforts of everyone involved in completing the project as planned and wished them continued success. Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat and Chairman of Edamah, expressed gratitude to His Majesty the King for supporting the event and thanked HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad for attending on His Majesty’s behalf. The resort, managed by Mantis Hotels, a subsidiary of Accor, reflects Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable development and promoting the island’s unique attractions.
Set to open in January 2025, the Hawar Resort features 104 rooms and villas, including overwater and beachfront villas with private pools. The resort offers a variety of activities for guests, from exploring the island’s rich ecosystem to adventurous experiences at the “Bear Grylls Adventure Zone.” Guests can also enjoy innovative dining at five restaurants within the resort. The Hawar Resort is the first of three exciting tourism projects being developed on Hawar Island under the supervision of the Higher Authority for Hawar Islands Development. With its luxurious amenities and commitment to sustainable tourism practices, the Hawar Resort is set to become a key player in Bahrain’s burgeoning tourism sector.
