Asian women deny accusations of human trafficking

The High Criminal Court in Manama recently held a hearing for several Asian women accused of human trafficking. The defendants denied the charges against them, with one of them claiming she had never seen the victims before. The case was referred to the Criminal Court by the Public Prosecution after an investigation into the alleged human trafficking ring. The investigation was sparked by a report from the Anti-Human Trafficking Department to the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, alleging that the defendants were forcing the victims into illegal activities and exploiting them for profit.
