Abdullah Al Qubaisi, a member of the Northern Municipal Council, has raised concerns about the shortage of garbage bags in the Northern Governorate. Residents have reported not receiving garbage bags for over three weeks, prompting Al Qubaisi to demand more oversight from the Ministry of Municipalities. He criticized the use of automated machines for distributing garbage bags and called for a long-term solution to address the ongoing issue.

According to Al Qubaisi, the lack of garbage bags distribution service in the Northern Governorate is a significant problem that needs immediate attention. He has contacted the Ministry of Municipalities about the issue but claims they are not aware of the problem. Al Qubaisi has urged the Ministry to disclose its plans for monitoring and controlling the distribution of garbage bags to ensure that eligible residents receive them in a timely manner.

Al Qubaisi also criticized the use of automated machines for garbage bag distribution, stating that they are ineffective and often malfunction, causing residents to visit municipality offices to obtain their bags. He compared the situation in the Northern Governorate to other governorates that do not face similar issues with their machines. To address the problem, Al Qubaisi has called for a two-year plan based on the budget and the provision of sufficient “reserve” garbage bags to prevent future shortages.

The ongoing shortage of garbage bags in the Northern Governorate has been described as “shameful” by Al Qubaisi, who emphasized the need to hold those responsible for the issue accountable. He has demanded that the Ministry of Municipalities take immediate action to resolve the problem and ensure that residents have access to the necessary garbage bags. Al Qubaisi’s concerns highlight the importance of proper oversight and efficient distribution systems for essential services like garbage collection.

In conclusion, Abdullah Al Qubaisi’s concerns about the shortage of garbage bags in the Northern Governorate reflect a larger issue with the distribution of essential services in the region. The Ministry of Municipalities must prioritize addressing this problem and implementing long-term solutions to prevent future shortages. By holding those responsible for the issue accountable and improving the distribution system, residents can have confidence that they will have access to the necessary garbage bags for proper waste management.
