Bahrain bids farewell to Abdulrahman Jamsheer, a prominent figure in politics and business, who recently passed away at the age of 80 after a long illness. Jamsheer was well-respected in Bahrain’s political arena, serving as a member of the Shura Council and playing a significant role in shaping the country’s political landscape, notably as the Secretary-General of the National Action Charter of 2002. Abdulrahman Jamsheer’s professional journey began at the Ministry of Agriculture before he moved on to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In 1973, he established the National Import and Export Company, which later developed into Esterad Investment, where he served as General Manager and Managing Director, making substantial contributions to the Investment Committee. His influence extended to various organizations, including his leadership roles in the Alumni Club, the Shura Council, the National Action Charter Society, and representing Bahrain in the Arab Parliament.

Throughout his career, Jamsheer held leadership positions in Delmon Poultry Company, BANZ Group, and Bahrain Duty Free Complex, showcasing his impact on Bahrain’s economy. His involvement with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as his roles at the National Bank of Bahrain, Kuwait Projects Company, and Khaleeji Commercial Bank, further demonstrated his influence on the country’s economic development. Jamsheer’s extensive career and enduring legacy will be remembered with deep respect in Bahrain.
