Mohammed Usrof, a student at Georgetown University in Qatar, is making waves both in and out of the classroom. With a busy schedule filled with academic pursuits and international activities, Mohammed is a shining example of youth activism and academic excellence. From his early days at the Arab International Academy in Qatar to his current roles as president of various clubs and founder of the Seeds of Hope project, Mohammed has always been passionate about creating positive change.

Having received the prestigious Davis Project for Peace Prize and represented youth at COP28, Mohammed’s commitment to making a difference is evident. His work with the Climate Alliance for Palestine and Seeds of Hope project demonstrates his dedication to supporting marginalized communities and fostering peace. He has been instrumental in providing support and resources to displaced Gazan children in Egypt and Jordan, combining psychological care and education to nurture resilience and peace.

In addition to his humanitarian efforts, Mohammed has been actively involved in advocating for change on a global scale. From conducting workshops at the Feminist Peace and Security School in Tunis to attending high-profile climate change conferences, Mohammed is determined to make a lasting impact. His upcoming internship with the Permanent Mission of Palestine and involvement in COP29 planning showcases his continued dedication to creating a better future for all.

Throughout his journey, Mohammed credits his professors at GU-Q for inspiring him to deepen his studies and activism. He emphasizes the importance of grassroots initiatives and community-based solutions, highlighting the power of working directly with communities to create lasting change. Mohammed’s advice to his peers is to acknowledge their privilege and use it to uplift marginalized voices and push for meaningful programs.

Despite facing challenges, Mohammed remains optimistic about the potential for change and is always thinking ahead to make a long-term impact. His commitment to using his platform to advocate for the voiceless and marginalized is unwavering, and he continues to inspire others to take action and create positive change in their communities. Mohammed’s dedication to youth activism and academic excellence serves as a beacon of hope for the future, showing that with determination and passion, real change is possible.
