Basic Electronics Co., Ltd. celebrated the laying of the foundation stone of the Advanced Basic Company for Industry’s factory in Saudi Arabia in alignment with Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative. The factory, specializing in the manufacture of air conditioners, aims to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly cooling solutions to reduce carbon emissions. The ceremony was attended by Madam Dong Meng Zhu, Chairman and CEO of Gree Electric Appliances Inc., and the factory is projected to employ over 2,000 employees on a total area of more than 70,000 square meters for the first stage.

Established in 1961, Basic Electronics Co., Ltd. has been involved in commercial transactions across various sectors, including household appliances, air conditioners, monitoring and control devices, medical devices, and other commercial electrical appliances. In recent years, the company’s management has strategically shifted towards supporting the localization of industry. This shift is evident in the establishment of the basic factory for smart meters in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, with a production capacity of over three hundred thousand meters per year.

The main company’s celebration of laying the foundation stone for the industrial complex for air conditioner manufacturing is a significant step towards localization in the Kingdom. The partnership with Gree signifies a move towards utilizing the best international technologies in the industry field, as the company aims to localize its industry in Saudi Arabia. The first phase of the industrial complex will focus on producing high-efficiency smart air conditioners with VRF technology and photovoltaic energy production technology, along with smart laboratories, a research and development center, and a training facility.

The second phase of the industrial park will expand to produce all air conditioning solutions using cutting-edge industrial technology programs worldwide, including artificial intelligence and digitization systems from strategic partner Gree Company. This partnership with Gree, a company with numerous global patents, will ensure that Basic Electronics Co., Ltd. remains at the forefront of innovation in the industrial sector. The company’s commitment to investing in Saudi talent, capacity building, technology transfer, and localization underscores its dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s industrial vision and sustainable development goals.
