Germany, England and Colombia reach Round of 32

The FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 is heating up at the Aspire Zone’s Competition Complex, where defending champions Germany, England, and Colombia have secured their spots in the Round of 32. The tournament has seen thrilling matches, with teams showcasing their skills and determination. Yesterday’s games delivered exciting results, including Brazil’s draw with Zambia and Indonesia’s historic first-ever FIFA World Cup win.

Germany dominated El Salvador 7-0 at Khaled Ballan Pitch, with Jeremiah Mensah scoring twice in the 32nd and 57th minutes. Other scorers for Germany included Alexander Staff, Wisdom Mike, Lasse Eikel, and Christian Prenaj, while an own goal by Andrew Reyes in the 52nd minute contributed to the rout. Germany coach Marc Meister praised his team’s performance, noting that they had to stay focused and concentrated under pressure. Colombia also advanced from Group G after defeating North Korea 2-0 at Mohammed Ghanim Pitch, with Miguel Solarte and Santiago Londono scoring the goals.

FIFA U-17 World Cup Group Stage Highlights

In Group E, Venezuela finished on top after a 4-2 victory over Haiti at Adel Mallala Pitch. David Garcia’s late brace sealed the win for Venezuela, who had struggled to break down Haiti’s defense. England secured a Round of 32 berth as Group E runners-up, thanks to Reigan Heskey’s brace and a late goal from Harrison Miles in their 3-0 win over Egypt at Mansour Muftah Pitch.

Switzerland topped Group F after beating Mexico 3-1 at Bader Bilal Pitch, with Mladen Mijajlovic scoring twice. South Korea also advanced to the knockout stage, overcoming Cote d’Ivoire 3-1 in an impressive display at Mahmoud Soufi Pitch. The South Koreans were led by goals from Kim Jisung, Jeong Hyeonung, and Yi Yonghyeon’s penalty.

Upsets and Surprises in the FIFA U-17 World Cup

In Group H, Brazil managed a 1-1 draw against Zambia at Khaled Salman Pitch, thanks to a late equalizer from Dell. Zambia had led for most of the match after Jonathan Kalimina’s goal in the 26th minute. Brazil coach Carlos Patetuci acknowledged that his team needed to improve their performance in the first half.

Indonesia made history with their first-ever FIFA World Cup win, edging Honduras 2-1 at Ibrahim Khalfan Pitch. Fadly Alberto’s spectacular goal in the 72nd minute secured the victory for Indonesia, who kept their progression hopes alive. Indonesia coach Nova Arianto expressed his excitement and pride in the team’s achievement.
