Four people died in a large fire at the Al Lawzi building

A tragic incident occurred in Manama as a couple lost their lives in a fire engulfing the eighth floor of a residential building in the Al Lawzi area. The victims, whose identities are yet to be revealed, were found embracing each other in a heartbreaking scene. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that a man, a child, and two women lost their lives in the fire, while several residents sustained injuries. However, 20 residents were rescued and are in stable condition after receiving first aid from the National Ambulance on-site.
Upon receiving the fire report, the Civil Defence Operations Room dispatched seven vehicles and 48 officers and personnel to the scene to initiate rescue and firefighting operations. The fire was brought under control, and cooling operations are currently ongoing to prevent reignition. In a tense rescue operation, emergency teams successfully evacuated a resident who refused to leave without finding his pet cat, prioritizing the safety of all occupants in the building.
The Operations Room of the General Directorate of Civil Defence managed to extinguish the fire within nine minutes of receiving the report. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire. Civil Defence teams responded swiftly to the incident, with Mohammed Abu Al Fatah, a senior officer, leading the rescue efforts. The report of the fire was received at 5:15 pm, prompting immediate deployment of fire engines and personnel to the apartment at Al Lawzi.
During the operation, the teams managed to extinguish the fire and evacuate residents trapped inside the building. Although residents from 32 apartments were safely evacuated, tragically four individuals lost their lives in the fire. Authorities are working diligently to provide support to those affected by the incident and to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in the area. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety practices and swift emergency response in residential buildings.
In conclusion, the tragic fire incident in Manama that claimed the lives of a couple and two other individuals has sent shockwaves through the community. The swift response of the Civil Defence teams and the coordinated efforts of emergency personnel were crucial in ensuring the safety of residents and extinguishing the fire.
