Formula 1 is back in Qatar: A fan’s essential guide to the drivers and teams leading the pack

In just under two months, the highly anticipated FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2024 will take place at the Lusail International Circuit (LIC) as the penultimate round of the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship. The current F1 season has already visited famous circuits around the world, bringing the thrill of open-wheel racing to fans worldwide. With 20 elite drivers across 10 teams competing, the championship race is heating up as the season nears its close.

As the championship race tightens, fans are eagerly following the current driver standings. Max Verstappen from the Netherlands, driving for Red Bull, currently leads the drivers’ standings with 331 points. However, Great Britain’s Lando Norris for McLaren is close behind in second place with 279 points, while third place belongs to Monaco’s Charles Leclerc for Ferrari with 245 points. With six rounds of the season remaining, the quest for the championship remains wide open.

The championship race has been defined by moments of on-track drama and close finishes, with recent wins coming down to small margins. The battle between Verstappen and Norris continues to captivate fans as they look forward to the upcoming races, including the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX in Austin, Texas. Every win in the Grands Prix brings the victorious driver 25 points, keeping the race for the championship exciting until the very end.

In addition to the traditional race format, fans can also look forward to the 100km high-intensity Formula 1 Sprint, which will take place during the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2024™. With only six circuits chosen to host the race, including Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, fans can expect close and thrilling racing action in the quest for valuable championship points. As the season progresses, the battle for the championship title is heating up, with teams vying for the coveted FIA Formula One World Championship for Constructors.

McLaren currently leads the constructors’ standings with 516 points, followed by Red Bull in second place with 475 points and Ferrari in third place with 441 points. Mercedes, led by Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, is in fourth place with 329 points and remains a team to watch as the season unfolds. With the gap between the top teams closing, the competition is fierce as teams prepare for the nail-biting races ahead.

As the season heads towards its thrilling conclusion in Abu Dhabi on 8 December, fans are encouraged to secure their tickets for the upcoming races at Lusail International Circuit. The weekend racing extravaganza will take place from Friday, 29 November to Sunday, 1 December, offering fans the opportunity to witness the excitement firsthand.
