Victoria Jackson, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1992, recently shared some heartbreaking news about her health. In a video for her “Is the Cancer Back?” series on Instagram, she disclosed that doctors had found an inoperable tumor in her windpipe as she continues her battle with cancer. She estimated that she has roughly three years left to live, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jackson explained in the video that the tumor is like a marble sitting on her windpipe, which, if left untreated, could eventually suffocate her.

Despite the grim prognosis, Jackson remained positive and hopeful about her course of treatment. She mentioned that her healthcare providers were going to give her a “magic pill” based on Ribociclib, which aims to shrink the tumor and slow or stop the cancer’s growth. She shared that the medicine would be delivered to her within the next 12 hours and expressed hope that it would be effective. In discussing the potential outcomes of taking the medication, Jackson noted that patients who use Ribociclib typically have around 32.6 months to live, giving her some hope for the future.

During the video, Jackson reflected on her life and the challenges she has faced. She acknowledged that while the news of her limited time left can be daunting, she has had a fantastic life overall. She emphasized that everyone is ultimately dying, but seeing a specific timeframe in print can be a sobering experience. Despite the difficult news, Jackson expressed that she wouldn’t change anything about her life, reflecting on the positive experiences and memories she has had over the years. Her resilience and optimism in the face of such adversity were inspiring to her viewers.

This isn’t the first time that Jackson has had to confront a cancer diagnosis. In 2016, she initially revealed her battle with breast cancer, and now, she faces yet another challenging health issue. Despite the setbacks and hardships, Jackson continues to share her journey with her followers, offering a raw and candid look at her experiences with cancer and the emotional toll it takes on her. Her openness and vulnerability in discussing her health struggles have garnered support and empathy from those who follow her story, highlighting the importance of honesty and transparency in difficult times.

As Jackson navigates this latest health challenge, she remains determined to fight and live her life to the fullest. She emphasizes the importance of cherishing each moment and finding joy in the present, despite the uncertainty of the future. Her courage and resilience in the face of such adversity serve as a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the ability to find hope and positivity in even the darkest of times. Through her story, Jackson inspires others to embrace each day with gratitude and courage, reminding us all of the preciousness of life and the resilience of the human spirit.
