As schools have transitioned to distance learning, teachers are finding innovative ways to engage students in their online classes. One such teacher, Jaimiely Monedo Dionglay, is using kitchen utensils to create engaging science lessons for her students. This hands-on approach not only makes learning fun but also encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning.

With the unpredictable weather conditions prompting the switch to online learning, schools are prioritizing the well-being of students and staff members. Headteachers are working hard to ensure a seamless transition for students and their families during these challenging times. Principals like Sangita Chima from Amity School Dubai are embracing new teaching methods and technologies to keep students engaged and learning effectively.

During distance learning, it’s important for students to stay disciplined and manage their time effectively. Simon Herbert, the Head of School/CEO at GEMS International School – Al Khail, emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach to online learning. Students are encouraged to take breaks, engage in physical activities, and maintain regular communication with their teachers and peers.

Principals are stressing the importance of active participation and ownership of the learning journey for students. Deepika Thapar Singh, CEO-Principal at Credence High School, highlights the significance of students taking responsibility and being engaged in their learning. By embracing these values, students not only enhance their academic progress but also contribute to a positive and enriching virtual classroom environment.

Parents play a crucial role in supporting their children during online learning. Creating a dedicated, quiet workspace, establishing a routine, and staying in touch with teachers and school staff are essential steps for parents to take. Schools are providing clear communication, necessary technology, and support systems to ensure that students have the resources they need for successful online learning.

Overall, the shift to online learning has presented challenges but also opportunities for growth and development. By adapting to new teaching methods, embracing responsibility, and staying engaged in the learning process, students can make the most of this unique learning experience. With the support of dedicated educators and parents, students can navigate the challenges of distance learning and continue to thrive academically.
