The first meeting of the Joint Security Committee for Cooperation in Crime Prevention between the Ministries of Interior of the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took place in Doha. The meeting was a significant step towards enhancing efforts in combating and preventing crime. The Qatari side was led by Director General of Public Security Major General Mohammed Jassim Al Sulaiti, while the Saudi side was headed by Director General of Public Security Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Bassami. The meeting discussed various topics and explored avenues for cooperation.

One of the key agendas of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in crime prevention. Both sides expressed their commitment to work together to combat various forms of crime effectively. By sharing information, resources, and expertise, they aim to enhance their capabilities in preventing crime and ensuring the safety and security of their citizens. The meeting was attended by several leaders and officials from both the Ministries of Interior and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), indicating the high level of importance placed on this collaboration.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of intelligence sharing and coordination in tackling transnational crime. In today’s interconnected world, criminals often operate across borders, making it essential for countries to cooperate and exchange information to combat such threats effectively. By establishing mechanisms for sharing intelligence and coordinating their efforts, Qatar and Saudi Arabia aim to disrupt criminal networks and prevent them from exploiting vulnerabilities in their security systems.

Another crucial aspect of the meeting was the discussion on enhancing border security and controlling the flow of illegal activities. Both countries recognize the significance of securing their borders to prevent smuggling, human trafficking, and other illicit activities. By coordinating their border control efforts and implementing advanced security measures, they aim to strengthen their defense against external threats and ensure the integrity of their borders. The meeting highlighted the need for a comprehensive approach to border security that combines technology, manpower, and intelligence sharing.

The meeting also touched upon the importance of capacity building and training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of law enforcement agencies in both countries. By investing in training programs and skill development initiatives, Qatar and Saudi Arabia aim to equip their security forces with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively combat crime. These programs will focus on improving investigative techniques, intelligence analysis, and crisis response to ensure a swift and coordinated response to security threats.

Overall, the first meeting of the Joint Security Committee for Cooperation in Crime Prevention between Qatar and Saudi Arabia was a significant milestone in their efforts to enhance security cooperation. By fostering closer ties, sharing intelligence, and coordinating their efforts, both countries aim to strengthen their capabilities in combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of their citizens. The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration, information sharing, and capacity building in addressing the evolving threats of transnational crime and reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to work together towards a safer and more secure future.
