The final round of the HH The Father Amir Prix 2026, a prestigious international equestrian event, begins Thursday at Al Shaqab’s Longines Arena in Doha, Qatar. The three-day competition features elite riders vying for a share of the over €1.2 million prize fund for this round, contributing to a total prize pool exceeding €3.3 million across the four qualifying events. This year’s competition is a key component of the larger Doha Equestrian Tour 2026, offering significant points toward championship standings.

The event, running through Saturday, will unfold across three arenas – the Longines Indoor Arena, the Longines Main Outdoor Arena and the Outdoor Auxiliary Arena – hosting eight classes ranging from one-star to five-star levels. This range allows both seasoned professionals and emerging talents in show jumping to participate in a world-class atmosphere. According to tournament organizers, preparations are finalized for a weekend of intense competition and the crowning of the series champions.

HH The Father Amir Prix: Championship Deciders

The HH The Father Amir Prix stands as a cornerstone of equestrian sport in the Middle East, attracting top athletes and promoting the growth of the discipline in Qatar. This year’s tour, consisting of ten rounds, has already demonstrated a high level of skill and sportsmanship. The final round will definitively determine the champions in the Star, Four-Star and Five-Star categories.

Current Leaderboard

Heading into the final competition, British rider Scott Brash currently leads the Four and Five-Star categories with 144 points. He is followed closely by American rider Eve Jobs at 95 points and fellow Briton Harry Charles with 84 points. In the One-Star category, Qatari riders dominate the leaderboard, with Saad Ahmed Al Saad leading with 49 points, just ahead of Hussein Saeed Haidan at 43 points.

The competition schedule is packed, beginning Thursday with Three-Star classes in the Longines Outdoor Arena. The day culminates with a challenging Five-Star class at 150cm. Simultaneously, the Longines Indoor Arena will feature the Star Class competition and a local class designed to nurture up-and-coming Qatari riders.

Friday’s program includes ten classes, featuring increasingly difficult courses in both arenas. The highlight of Friday’s events is the six-bar competition, a popular spectacle known for its demanding height and testing riders’ abilities. This event consistently draws large crowds, according to Abdullah Al Qashouti, Marketing and Communications Director for the championship.

Saturday will bring the championship to a dramatic close with eight competitions, including the Grand Prix events for each of the three primary categories: One-Star, Three-Star, and Five-Star. These Grand Prix events represent the highest level of competition, testing the riders’ precision, speed and partnership with their horses. The Five-Star Grand Prix will be particularly demanding, featuring a course height of 160 cm.

Following the conclusion of Saturday’s events, a press conference is scheduled to review the key statistics and outcomes of the HH The Father Amir’s Equestrian Prix. Mohammed Jaber Al Khayarin, Deputy Director of the Tournament, emphasized the importance of this final round in crowning the overall series winners.

Organizers are also focused on providing a comprehensive sporting experience, focusing on both organizational efficiency and engaging marketing initiatives. The Doha Equestrian Tour aims to solidify its position as a leading event on the global show jumping calendar and further develop equestrian sport within Qatar. Show jumping, equestrian events, and Al Shaqab are all keywords contributing to the tour’s visibility.

Looking ahead, the results of this event will shape the competitive landscape for the remainder of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026. The subsequent rounds will build on the momentum generated here, and the performance of riders in this final leg will be closely watched as they prepare for future international competitions. Further analysis of the competition outcomes and the impact on rider rankings will be forthcoming.
