Qatar continues to showcase exceptional working conditions as 15 companies based in the region were named on the 2024 Best Workplaces in Asia list by Great Places to Work Middle East. Among the top 200 winners, companies like Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co., Apparel Group, MAERSK, and Hilton were recognized. This demonstrates the commitment of Qatari companies to fostering a positive work environment for their employees, as stated by Jules Youssef, Managing Director of Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.

The rankings are based on confidential survey data, with over 2.7 million responses from employees representing approximately 6.9 million workers across the region. Workers expressed their experiences of trust, innovation, company values, and leadership, leading to rankings based on feedback. The organizations ranked this year had a higher number of employees who reported positive experiences at their workplace, showcasing a focus on employee welfare and satisfaction.

Youssef highlighted that the recognition not only elevates the reputation of these companies globally but also attracts top talent to the local market. Michael C Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work, emphasized that investing in people leads to better outcomes for businesses and the planet. A market survey revealed that less than half of employees feel they receive adequate training on AI tools at work, showing a gap in investment in employee development in the region.

However, 89 percent of employees noted that their firms celebrate individuals who explore new strategies for improving working conditions, indicating a positive trend in the local market. This is 20 points higher than the percentage of employees in typical workplaces in Qatar who feel the same. The focus on creating a supportive and engaging work environment is crucial for attracting and retaining top talent in Qatar.

In conclusion, Qatar-based companies are making significant strides in providing excellent working conditions for their employees, as evidenced by their recognition on the Best Workplaces in Asia list. The commitment to fostering a positive work environment, investing in employee development, and embracing new technologies like AI is essential for their continued success in attracting top talent and remaining competitive in the market. As more companies prioritize employee welfare and satisfaction, this positive impact contributes to the overall growth and competitiveness of the local market in Qatar.
