Ali Farag, the World No.1, secured a commanding straight-set win over Nicolas Mueller to set up a semi-final clash against Diego Elias at the QTerminals Qatar Classic. Farag, a three-time Qatar Classic champion, defeated Mueller 14-12, 11-5, 11-6 in just 34 minutes. Elias, the reigning world champion, also booked his spot in the semi-finals by dispatching Tarek Momen in four games.

In the women’s side of the tournament, defending champion Hania ElHammamy reached the semi-finals after a 3-0 win over Tinne Gilis. World No.1 Nour ElSherbini clinched her 13th consecutive win by defeating Georgina Kennedy in a tricky four-game encounter. ElSherbini expressed her excitement to face ElHammamy in the semi-finals and seek revenge for last year’s final defeat.

Elias, despite having a negative record against Momen in previous meetings, outsmarted the Egyptian to set up a rematch of last year’s final against Farag. Elias will be aiming to secure his second Qatar Classic title as he looks to overcome Farag in the semi-final clash. Joining them in the men’s semi-finals are Joel Makin and Mostafa Asal, who both secured victories in their respective matches against Fares Dessouky and Karim Abdel Gawad.

The semi-finals promise to be competitive with tough battles expected, especially between Farag and Elias. The two players have had intense matches in the past, and Elias is determined to give his best against the World No.1. In the women’s side, ElSherbini and ElHammamy will face each other in a highly anticipated semi-final match with ElSherbini seeking revenge for last year’s final defeat.

World Champion Nouran Gohar and Olivia Weaver also secured their spots in the women’s semi-finals after defeating their opponents in thrilling matches. The competition in both the men’s and women’s categories is heating up as the players aim to claim the prestigious Qatar Classic title. Fans can expect some exciting matches in the upcoming semi-finals as the players battle it out for a place in the final and the chance to be crowned champions.
