Coldplay’s return to India has caused a surge in excitement among fans eager to see them perform live after a long break. However, the high demand for tickets has led to frustrations as many fans have faced issues with ticket availability. The shows quickly sold out on BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner, leaving many fans worried about being scammed by fake tickets being sold on unauthorised platforms.

The outrage has been further fuelled by the quick resale of tickets at inflated prices on platforms like Viagogo and Gigsberg, with resellers demanding amounts far higher than the official ticket prices. Some platforms are reselling tickets at prices as high as Rs 300,000, despite warnings from BookMyShow. Fans have expressed their concerns about a possible scam scheme and the questionable practices of these reselling platforms.

To address these issues, BookMyShow has taken legal action against resellers and fraudulent platforms to protect fans from buying counterfeit tickets. The company has advised customers to purchase tickets only through official channels to avoid being duped by unauthorised sellers. Despite these efforts, the high demand for tickets has made it challenging for everyone to secure tickets, leading to widespread discontent among the fanbase.

Coldplay’s performances in Mumbai are scheduled for January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, marking their return to India after an eight-year hiatus. The band, consisting of bassist Guy Berryman, vocalist Chris Martin, drummer Will Champion, and guitarist Jonny Buckland, last performed in the country at the 2016 Global Citizen Festival. Fans are eagerly anticipating their upcoming shows and hoping to secure tickets through official channels to avoid falling victim to scams and paying inflated prices on unauthorised platforms.
