The 2nd edition of the GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum took place in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the participation of the Sultanate of Oman represented by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). The forum, themed “Sustainability, Investments, Partnerships”, was organized by the Federation of GCC Chambers in cooperation with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan. The aim of the forum was to explore new economic and investment cooperation opportunities between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan.

During the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Federation of GCC Chambers and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan, focusing on cooperation in the implementation of investment projects across various sectors. The MoU also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in areas such as export and investment promotion, information exchange, bilateral cooperation programmes, trade promotion activities, research and analytical work, and providing mutual support in the implementation of investment projects.

The discussion panels at the GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum covered a wide range of topics, including cooperation in renewable energy, clean energy, water and electricity, as well as challenges and opportunities in the transport and logistic services sectors. Additionally, there was a panel that focused on strategic partnerships between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan in the fields of agriculture, food security, and food industries. The forum provided a platform for fruitful discussions and networking opportunities for businesses from both regions.

On the sidelines of the forum, several business-to-business (B2B) meetings were held between GCC businesspeople and their Azerbaijani counterparts. These meetings allowed for further discussions and potential collaborations between businesses from the GCC countries and Azerbaijan. The opportunity for B2B meetings facilitated the exchange of ideas, experiences, and business opportunities, fostering stronger economic ties between the two regions.

The GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum serves as a platform for promoting economic cooperation and investment opportunities between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan. The forum provides a valuable opportunity for businesses from both regions to explore potential partnerships, collaboration opportunities, and investment projects. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, the forum aims to enhance economic relations between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan, ultimately contributing to sustainable growth and prosperity for both regions.

Overall, the 2nd edition of the GCC-Azerbaijan Economic Forum in Baku was a success, with participants from the Sultanate of Oman and other GCC countries engaging in discussions, networking, and potential collaborations with Azerbaijani counterparts. The forum highlighted the importance of sustainable partnerships, investments, and cooperation in various sectors between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan, paving the way for future economic growth and development in the region.
