The National Defence College (NDC) in Muscat recently hosted Christophe Farno, the Ambassador of the European Union to Oman, who delivered a lecture on “The European Union and its role in promoting peace and security in the Middle East (ME)”. The lecture was part of the curriculum for the 12th National Defence Course and was attended by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC. Farno addressed various challenges and events in the Middle East and their global repercussions, emphasizing the geostrategic importance of the region for the European Union.

During his lecture, Farno highlighted the significance of dialogue and peace talks in the rapidly changing scenarios of the Middle East.
