William Zabka honors former ‘Karate Kid’ co-star Chad McQueen in remembrance – News

Chad McQueen, known for his role in The Karate Kid, recently passed away at the age of 63 in Palm Springs. His co-star William Zabka shared fond memories of McQueen on Instagram, posting behind-the-scenes photos from their time on The Karate Kid set. McQueen played Dutch, a member of the Cobra Kai in the original film and its sequel. Zabka remembered McQueen as a unique individual who always made him laugh and shared a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude for the time they spent together.

In his Instagram post, Zabka shared pictures of McQueen along with other cast members, including Rob Garrison, Ron Thomas, Tony O’Dell, and the late Pat Morita. The photos capture the camaraderie and fun they had on set, with one image showing the group enjoying ice cream together. Zabka’s caption reflected on the memories he shared with McQueen during the filming of The Karate Kid, emphasizing McQueen’s unique personality and the bond they shared as co-stars.

McQueen, who was the son of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen, followed in his father’s footsteps as an actor and became a professional race car driver as well. He appeared in several films before focusing on his racing career in the 1990s. McQueen’s last movie appearance was in 2001’s Fall: The Price of Silence. His legacy as both an actor and a race car driver will be remembered by his fans and colleagues in the industry.

Zabka and McQueen’s Karate Kid co-star Ron Thomas also paid tribute to McQueen on Zabka’s post, highlighting the brotherhood and memories they shared on and off the set. Thomas reminisced about the stories they created together, emphasizing the special bond they formed during their time working on The Karate Kid.
