Sarah Rocio Provenzani, a UAE-based musician, had an unconventional journey to the studio, starting her musical endeavor at the age of 22 after being persuaded by her mother. She studied classical and jazz music before finding her passion for electronic music and melodic techno, adopting the stage name ‘Sarah R Jay’ in homage to Michael Jackson. Despite previously trying different jobs and educational paths, Sarah was committed to perfecting her craft with diplomas from Trinity College in London and guidance from professionals at Ras Al Khaimah Music Zone.
Realizing the potential of her music as a platform for change and awareness, Sarah aims to bring meaningful messages to the industry. Her debut project, “Sea of Sorrow,” sheds light on the abandoned animals’ plight in the UAE. The emotional ballad is a call for action, emphasizing the need for responsible pet ownership and support for animal rescuers who work tirelessly to care for stray animals.
As a dedicated rescuer herself, Sarah has rescued numerous cats and advocates for creating public animal welfare centers to support animals in need. She proposes an animal welfare levy upon visa issuance to fund initiatives that provide medical attention, food, shelter, and neutering services for stray animals. Additionally, she suggests the development of a UAE-wide app connecting individuals with rescue centers for adoption opportunities, stressing the importance of caring for innocent and pure animals.
Currently working on her second single, “Dubai’s Moonlit Glow,” Sarah celebrates the beauty of Dubai’s nightscapes under the moonlight through her music. Despite English not being her native language, Sarah feels most comfortable singing and writing songs in English, showcasing her talent and passion for music. With a focus on trusting in her instincts and abilities, Sarah continues to pursue her musical journey with a message of love and compassion for animals.
