Jackpot!, a new movie starring John Cena and Awkwafina, is set to be released on Amazon Prime Video on August 15. The trailer of the film has been unveiled, revealing a unique storyline set in Los Angeles in 2030. The plot focuses on Katie, played by Awkwafina, a struggling actress who wins the lottery but soon realizes that the state of California allows others to kill the winner until sundown to claim the prize money without consequences. John Cena plays an amateur lottery protection agent who helps Katie stay alive and earns a cut of the cash if she survives.

In one scene from the trailer, Awkwafina’s character tells Cena’s character, “I do trust you. I think it’s because you look like a bulldog that, like, a witch cast a spell on and turned into a human. You ever get that?” This exchange hints at the comedic and quirky tone of the film, which is directed by Paul Feig, known for his work on comedies like Bridesmaids and The Heat.

Fans of both John Cena and Awkwafina can look forward to seeing their dynamic on-screen chemistry and comedic performances in Jackpot!. The film promises to deliver a mix of action, humor, and suspense as Katie and her protector navigate the deadly aftermath of her lottery win. With the movie slated for release on Amazon Prime Video, viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy the film from the comfort of their own homes beginning on August 15.

Overall, Jackpot! is shaping up to be an exciting and entertaining addition to the action-comedy genre, with a fresh take on the classic lottery winner trope. The star-studded cast, led by John Cena and Awkwafina, brings a blend of humor and thrills to the storyline, creating a compelling and engaging viewing experience for audiences. As anticipation builds for the film’s release, fans can expect an adrenaline-pumping ride filled with unexpected twists and turns as Katie fights to survive the deadly consequences of her unexpected windfall. Get ready to witness a wild and hilarious adventure in Jackpot! on Amazon Prime Video this August.
