The Hammadi family, led by Nada Al Nuaymi, is breaking stereotypes and paving the way for Emirati women in combat sports. The Emirati sisters, Zamzam and Ghala, have achieved success in the World Junior MMA Championship, showcasing their resilience and determination. Nada, a role model for her children, has instilled a legacy of strength and perseverance in them, propelling them to greatness in the martial arts world.

Nada’s battle with stage 2 cancer three years ago served as a testament to their family’s resilience and determination. Refusing chemotherapy, she opted for a strict diet and displayed unwavering strength in the face of adversity. Her daughters, inspired by her fight, went on to achieve historic wins in the MMA world, with Zamzam becoming UAE’s first female youth champion and Ghala setting a record with the fastest submission.

The Hammadi family’s journey began with Nada’s decision to pursue a different path than traditional gender roles dictate. Her influence on her children extends beyond the mat, shaping their mental toughness and dedication to their sport. Zamzam and Ghala, trained from a young age, have dedicated their lives to martial arts, following a disciplined routine that maximizes their potential for success.

The sisters, considered trailblazers in the Emirati community, are challenging societal norms and encouraging other young women to break barriers and pursue their passions. Despite initial skepticism, they have gained respect and admiration in the global martial arts community, inspiring a new generation of Emirati women to excel in combat sports. The Hammadi family’s success is not just personal; it’s about changing perceptions and creating opportunities for future generations of Emirati women.

With a goal of continuing to represent their country on the world stage, the Hammadi sisters are focused on inspiring other Emirati women to embrace combat sports and shatter gender stereotypes. Their mother, Nada, dreams of seeing her daughters’ names etched in history as symbols of what Emirati women can achieve. With the support of the UAE’s leadership and sports federations, the family is working towards a future where Emirati women are not just participants but leaders in combat sports, contributing to a more inclusive and diverse society.
