The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Doha, Qatar recently launched the “My values draw my identity” project, set to run from 2024 to 2027. This project is an extension of plans and programs initiated in 2021 by the Department of Schools and Kindergartens in the private education sector, in collaboration with the Education Center, aimed at promoting and solidifying educational values among students through school campaigns and activities. Part of the project involves providing educational resources to support teachers and students in integrating values into their daily lives.

The main goal of the “My values draw my identity” project is to enhance inclusive education, strengthen the national identity, and promote Qatari culture within private schools and kindergartens. By equipping students with values as practical tools to navigate daily challenges, the project also seeks to develop students’ communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Al-Naama emphasized the importance of instilling local values in a rapidly changing world to strike a balance between preserving traditions and embracing global advancements.

The launch of this project comes at a crucial time when identity and loyalty face significant challenges, making it essential to emphasize the values that define the Qatari society. By partnering with various national bodies and institutions, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education aims to create a collaborative effort to promote these values among students. The project’s activities and campaigns are designed to engage students in discussions about values and how they can be applied in real-life situations, thereby fostering a sense of responsibility and citizenship among the youth.

Through the “My values draw my identity” project, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education endeavors to create a supportive environment for teachers and students to explore and internalize values that are integral to the Qatari identity. By offering specialized educational resources and activities, the project aims to empower students to embody these values in their interactions with others and in decision-making processes. This holistic approach to education not only enhances students’ academic development but also equips them with essential life skills that will serve them well in the future.

The project’s focus on values as guiding principles for personal conduct and societal interactions reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to holistic education. By emphasizing the importance of values in shaping one’s identity, the project seeks to instill a sense of pride and belonging among students in Qatar. By fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and empathy, the project aims to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to excel academically and personally.

In conclusion, the “My values draw my identity” project launched by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar is a comprehensive initiative aimed at promoting educational values among students in private schools and kindergartens. By emphasizing the importance of values in shaping one’s identity and fostering a sense of responsibility and citizenship, the project seeks to empower students to navigate the complex challenges of the modern world while preserving the rich cultural heritage of Qatar. Through collaboration with national bodies and institutions, the project aims to create a supportive and inclusive educational environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
