Doha, Qatar – A new partnership between Education Above All (EAA) Foundation and Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education (PUE) aims to bolster educational access and quality within Qatar, particularly for students at EAA’s Assalam Schools. The collaboration, formalized today at Qatar Foundation Headquarters, will focus on professional development for educators and expanded learning opportunities. This initiative reflects a broader national commitment to creating a more inclusive and future-focused learning environment for all.

The agreement signifies a joint effort to strengthen Qatar’s educational ecosystem, addressing the needs of both educators and students. EAA, a global foundation dedicated to transforming lives through education, and PUE, responsible for Qatar Foundation’s network of schools, will combine their resources and expertise. This collaboration comes as Qatar continues to invest heavily in its human capital development as part of its National Vision 2030.

Enhancing Educational Access Through Collaborative Programs

The core of the partnership lies in PUE’s commitment to designing and delivering specialized professional development programs for teachers and administrators at Assalam Schools. These programs will focus on innovative teaching methodologies and best practices in education. Additionally, EAA Foundation employees will benefit from learning and capacity-building opportunities offered by PUE, fostering a reciprocal exchange of knowledge.

Beyond professional development, the agreement outlines several joint initiatives. These include promoting community engagement in education, exploring digital learning pathways to enhance accessibility, and establishing volunteer programs that directly benefit students and educators. The integration of technology into learning is a key priority for Qatar, and this partnership aims to accelerate that process.

Supporting Assalam Schools and Students

Assalam Schools, established by EAA Foundation, provide educational opportunities to vulnerable and marginalized children. PUE will provide crucial support to these schools through the provision of IT devices and other essential educational resources. This direct assistance aims to bridge the digital divide and ensure all students have the tools they need to succeed.

The collaboration also extends to fundraising and awareness campaigns within PUE schools, designed to support EAA’s broader mission. Students from PUE schools will be encouraged to participate in volunteer initiatives and potentially visit EAA project sites globally, fostering a sense of global citizenship and practical learning experiences. This hands-on approach to learning is increasingly emphasized in Qatar’s educational reforms.

Ali Al Sobai, Chief Operations Officer at EAA Foundation, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating it represents a “meaningful extension” of their mission to provide equitable, high-quality learning. He highlighted the potential to create stronger support systems for educators and students, particularly those most in need.

Abeer Al Khalifa, President of Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, echoed this sentiment, noting PUE’s dedication to extending its educational expertise beyond its own schools. She stressed the importance of empowering educators and creating inclusive learning environments. Al Khalifa also underscored the value of student involvement in community and volunteer work, fostering responsibility and global awareness.

This partnership builds upon a long-standing relationship between EAA Foundation and Qatar Foundation, both key players in Qatar’s education sector. Previous collaborations have focused on research and development in education, and this new agreement represents a deepening of that commitment. The move aligns with Qatar’s national strategy to diversify its economy and invest in a highly skilled workforce.

Looking ahead, the immediate next step involves the joint development of a detailed implementation plan outlining specific program timelines and resource allocation. The success of the initiative will depend on effective coordination between the two organizations and ongoing evaluation of program impact. Monitoring the integration of digital learning tools and the level of student participation in volunteer programs will be particularly important to gauge the long-term benefits of this collaboration.

Further details about specific program offerings and volunteer opportunities are expected to be announced in the coming months. Stakeholders will be watching to see how this partnership contributes to improved learning outcomes and increased educational opportunities for all students in Qatar.
