iSwim, the premier swimming club located in Dubai Marina, has recently made a groundbreaking move by becoming the first swimming club in the region to accept cryptocurrency payments. This step marks the club’s ambitious entrance into the Web3 and crypto world. iSwim has gained a reputation for promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while offering top-notch coaching services. With over 50 pools across Dubai and having trained more than 7,000 swimmers, including record-holding champions, iSwim has solidified its position as a leading swimming club in the Middle East.

Sam Shami, the CEO and managing director of iSwim Mena, expressed his enthusiasm for this new development, stating, “It is our first dive into the Web3 and crypto world. If not in Dubai, where else can that be? We are very proud to be part of the UAE and shaping the future of sports, Web3, and crypto by introducing it to our business.” Founded over a decade ago, iSwim quickly became a favorite destination for swimming enthusiasts of all ages in the Middle East. The club’s head coach, Elena Shami, and Sergey Orlov, head of the Dubai branch, have led the coaching team with a strong commitment to quality and community building.

Despite facing challenges, such as the recent move from a freezone to mainland Dubai, iSwim has managed to thrive. This strategic decision was enabled by new UAE laws allowing expats to own 100 per cent of their mainland businesses. This move has allowed iSwim to expand its operations significantly, making it the largest swimming club in Dubai Marina, serving more than 50 private and community pools in the area. The club’s goal is to create small training teams in each community to compete as one united iSwim Club.

In a bid to foster innovation, iSwim has launched iSwim Premium, a concept designed for hotel guests in Dubai Marina, offering high-end coaching paired with luxury hospitality. This premium service was also the first to accept cryptocurrency payments, showcasing iSwim’s role as a pioneer in sports and digital innovation in the UAE. Looking ahead, iSwim plans to grow further by opening a new branch in Abu Dhabi and hosting multiple camps annually, with possible expansion to other emirates with the support of UAE sports authorities.

As a family-run business, iSwim emphasizes the importance of harmony and personal connections in decision-making. The club’s dedication to innovation, community building, and top-tier coaching has solidified its position as a trailblazer in the UAE sports industry. By venturing into the world of digital currencies and maintaining its commitment to excellence, iSwim is set to continue leading the way in sports and innovation in the UAE.
